Frankfurter Automobil-Club Jubilaums Sternfahrt 1959
Badge from the 60th anniversary of the Frankfurter Automobil-Club. This event was celebrated with a Sternfahrt or "Star Rallye" on May 30 1959. AvD (Automobil Club von Deutschland) was the sanctioning body. 75MM (~ 3") diameter. Condition is Near Mint. C. Poellath Schrobenhausen makers mark.

III. Nordbadische DMV Wertungsfahrt 1959
Competitors badge from the 3rd Wertungsfahrt or "Valuation Drive". (Nordbad is a subburb of Munich) Racy car has 1959 on the front rallye plate. 115MM (~ 4 1/2") X 80MM (~ 3 1/8"). Badge has the gold wreath of the first place finisher. Deutsches Motorsport Verband (DMV) was the sanctioning body. Condition is Excellent to Near Mint. Never mounted, but showing signs of handling. As a note, the color black is rare in badge making. C. Polleth Schrobenhausen makers mark.

Zuverlaessigkeitsfahrt Heilbronn 1959
Competitors badge from the Heilbronn Zuverlaessigkeitsfahrt or "Reliability Drive" of 1959. The pretty Käthchen is part of the design which includes architectural landmarks and grapes. (Heilbronn is known for it's wines) The badge includes the bronze wreath of the 3rd place finisher. 85MM (~ 3 7/16") X 70MM (~ 2 3/4") ADAC was the sanctioning body. Condition is Near Mint. A.Rettenmaier Schwabische Gmund makers mark.

Geschicklichkeitsfahrt Alzey 1959
Participants badge from the Geschicklichkeitsfahrt or "Skill Drive" of Alzey from 1959. Alzey is a town between Weisbaden and Mannheim. This event was sponsored by the Motorsports Club of Alzey and sanctioned by ADAC. The ADAC crest was added to this badge in the early style. 70MM (~ 2 3/4") diameter. This badge was used and carefully removed. It is in good condition and shows the real patina of a 50 year old piece.

Zielfahrt Koln 1959
Participants badge from the Zeilfahrt or "Goal Drive" from Koln for 1959. The triangular shaped piece added indicates Heimkehrer Deutschlandtreffen or "Homecoming Germany Meet". ADAC was the sanctioning body and their crest was added in the early style. 82MM (~ 3 3/16") X 60MM (~ 2 3/8"). Condition is Near Mint. F. Hoffstatter Bonn makers mark.

Internationale 3 Tagefahrt Isny 1959
Participants badge from the International 3 Day Drive of Isny for 1959. Isny is a town to the west of Munich. This colorful piece features the flags of the invited countries and measures 66MM (~ 2 5/8") in diameter. ADAC was the sanctioning body. Condition is Mint. A. Rettenmaier Schwabisch Gmund makers mark.

Zielfahrt Frankfurt 1959
Participants badge from the Zielfahrt or "Goal Drive" of Frankfurt from 1959 in conjunction with the 39th International Auto Show. 85MM (~ 3 3/16") X 77MM (~ 3 1/6"). ADAC was the sanctioning body and their crest is added in the early style. E.. Weidmann Frankfurt M makers mark. This piece was used but carefully removed and exhibits the patina of a 50 year old piece.

Gordon Bennett Plaketten Fahrt 1959
Participants badge from the Gordon Bennett Plaketten Fahrt or "Bagde Drive" of 1959. The sponsoring body was the Frankfurt Auto Club and their crest is added in the early style. This one's a bit of a mystery. There was the Gordon Bennett Cup race, but that event ran from 1900 to 1905. Part of the design of this piece includes the year 1904, the DAC logo (Deutsches Automobil Club) as well as Gordon Bennett Preis (Gordon Bennett Prize). A handsome piece in any case! 96MM (~ 3 3/4") X 92MM (~ 3 9/16"). Condition is Mint. C. Poellath Schrobenhausen makers mark.

Internationale DMV Rallye Niederrhein 1959
Competitors badge from the International DMV Rallye Niederrhein of 1959. This event was sanctioned by the DMV (Deutsche Motorsport Verband or "Club") and was awarded to the first place finisher. 102MM (~ 4") X 84MM (~ 3 3/16"). Condition is Mint. C. Poellath Schrobenhausen makers mark.

3. Acht-Berge Rallye 1959
Participants from the 3rd Acht-Berge Rallye of 1959. Acht-Berge means "Eight Mountains". This would appear to be a local event of some sort. No club or sanctioning body references. Of course, the interesting point is the 356 Porsche coupe heading toward you in the design. Stunning! 86MM (~ 3 5/16") X 82MM (~ 3 3/16"). Moderate patina but still nice.
