Nordmark Fahrt Hamburg 1959
Competitors badge from the Nordmark Hamburg of 1959. This event was sponsored by the Hamburg police. Competitive events sponsored by local police were fairly common in Germany where driving is taken seriously. These events were meant to remind people of regulations as well as get them more deeply acquainted with the abilities of themselves and their vehicle. This example shows one way in which a participants badge was converted to a competitors badge by the addition of a wreath. 82MM (~ 3 3/16") diameter. Condition is Very Good to Excellent show some patina.

Internationale Automobil Turnier Bad Homburg 1959
Competitors badge from the International Automobile Tournament of Bad Homburg of 1959. Compare this one to the Special participants badge from this event which appears on this site and reads FUR MITARBEIT in the banner across the top. This example features the wreath of a competitor in the lower border. (In this case the 3rd place finisher) AVD was the sanctioning body and the Frankfurt Automobil Club was the Sponsor. 98MM (~ 3 15/16") X 80MM (~ 3 1/8"). Condition is Near Mint with moderate tarnishing. C. Poellath makers mark.

Porsche Club Duisburg
Club badge from the Porsche Club of Duisburg. While this badge is not dated, the design of the steering wheel suggests that it dates from'60 to'65. Please note the detail in the horn button and spokes.

Zielfahrt Bad Neuenahr 1963
23rd International Automobile Tournament of the West 1963. Organized by the Middle Rhein Automobile Club of Koln. Their crest is added in the earlier style. Th design includes the flags of the 9 countries invited. 100MM (~ 4 ") X 72MM (~ 2 13/16"). Biedermann & Co makers mark. Damage to the enamel near the right mount hole, otherwise Near Mint.

2nd Rheingauer Zuverlassigkeitsfahrt 1963
Participants badge from the 2nd Reliability Rallye of Rheingau 1963. The silver wreath indicates a second place finsher. Organized by the Motorsports Club of Rheingau. 90MM (~ 3 1/2") X 85MM (~ 3 3/8"). Condition is Excellent with a slight bend at the upper right corner. A small amout is enamel is missing.
